1. School : General information and Academic Administration
After observation, please write e report about school general
information and its academic administration according to topics as follows :
1.1 School
Profile
Marikina Elementary School was established in 1914 during the American
occupation. In 1915, Catalino Cruz, the president of Marikina goverment paved
the way for the establishment of intermediate classes. From then on the
school was known as Marikina Elementary School.
The
historic Gabaldon building is its famous landmark since 1993. The school
catered average-income families around barangay Sta. Elena and its neighboring
barangays.
However,
building became dilapidated and some of them were eventually demolished. That's
why, in 1995, Mayor Bayani Fernando, the city mayor, constructed a
3-storey building with 30 classrooms on the western side. Another building was
constructed under the leadership of Mayor Maria Lourdes Fernando on the eastern
side. Both buildings were named after them.
At
present, the BF and MCF buildings are connected and a dome is used as venues
for so many city, DepEd and school activities. The Gabaldon part is used as an
office for the District and the school repair and maintenance group. Said
building is awaiting restoration.

10 : 00 AM – 04 : 30 / 05 : 30 PM (For afternoon section), they come to school 5
days in a week (Monday – Friday). The student always do prayer before and after
study, flag ceremony on Monday and the student do greeting for their teacher.
1.4 Materials
and Other Learning Sources
In learning, teachers usually use whiteboards, chalk, marker, projector,
laptop, chart, learning media needed, microphone, manila paper, book sources,
video or picture, etc.
1.5 Measurement
and Evaluation System
The teachers usually do a measurement by student’s workbook, quiz, and
final examination each semester.
1.6 Curriculum
Marikina Elementary School used K to 12 curriculum. I think the
curriculum is student-centered learning.
1.7 Teaching
plan (of your major)
According to the teaching plan of the school, the teachers use the
curriculum as the basic point to arrange and set it in learning process. In
addtion, the book sources as guide’s teacher is the teaching plan that already
prepared, but then it is not always be the guide to apply in the class, the teaching
plan suitable with teacher needs in class flexible.
2. Pedagogical Contents
After observation, please write a report on school pedagogical contents
(where you were placed for practicum) according to topics as follows :
2.1 Teaching
Methods
I think teaching methods that the teachers use in the class is
student-centered teaching model. Furthermore, the teacher’s role is to coach
and facilitate student learning and overall comperhension of material, and to
measure student learning through both formal and informal forms of assesment,
like group projects, student portofolios, and class participation. In the
student learning is continously measured during teacher intructions.
2.2 Learning
Materials and Innovation
The teachers are more independent for the selecting of textbooks and
learning materials, whatever software or electronic devices. What to be
considered is that all learning materials have to align with the Basic
Education Core Curriculum
2.3 Sources
of Learning and Technology
I think, the sources of learning and technology in the school are
advance enough because of the creatitivy of teacher tools and the school
facilities for supporting learning system. For example, the school provides
many books for students and teachers as the references as well as
entertainment, the teaching kits that school gets from the goverment for the
teacher creating learning material, computer, proyectors, television and
microphone-speaker.
2.4 Autenthic
Assesment
Authentic assessment is done by the teacher during the learning process
on students' knowledge, attitude and skills.

according to topics as follows :

4. Observation on Teacher(s)
After observing and studying about teacher(s), please write a report on
following topics :
4.1 Planning
for Teaching
The teacher have prepared a plan for creative teaching with materials
and objects to be delivered in the learning process later. In addition,
teachers have also prepared learning media and evaluation for students.
And also teachers have been
systematically, strategically, and timely in the learning process.
4.2 Preparing
Lessons and Materials
The teacher already has a guidebook that suits the curriculum used.
4.3 Teaching
in Class
The teacher begin learning by praying, greeting students, checking
absences, motivating, giving ice breaking like singing, dancing, even applause.
Sometimes the teacher displays the video and brings the learning media to make
students active in the learning progress. In addition teachers create group
activities and games for students and teachers also provide evaluation and
rewards to students. And I think that learning is very interesting for
students.
4.4 Measurement
and Evaluation
Measurement and evaluation are done at the end of the lesson. Sometimes
the teacher at the time of the learning process did an assessment of the
students.
5. Teaching Practice
For teaching practice, please have to write a teaching plan and consult
